Dr. William Hammonds is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Corneal Specialist who has been performing LASIK for over 10 years. In addition to completing his medical degree, Dr. Hammonds also completed a year in specialized training that was devoted specifically to corneal disease and refractive surgery (LASIK) at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He has performed thousands of LASIK, cataract and corneal surgeries. Dr. Hammonds of TLC Laser Eye Centers – Charlotte, is the team eye physician and sole LASIK provider for the Carolina Panthers as well as the Charlotte Hornets.
EDUCATION / TRAINING
Dr. Hammonds received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Following his residency, he completed his fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at Bascom Palmer, which is nationally ranked as the #1 eye care center in the United States from US News and World Report .

Dr. Hammonds is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He served as Chief Resident for the University of Alabama, Birmingham, Department of Ophthalmology.

As a corneal specialist, he also specializes in the medical and surgical management of cornea and external disease, corneal transplants, DSEK, dry eye treatment, and NO needle NO stitch cataract surgery with monofocal, ReSTOR and toric lens implants.
