LASIK Surgeon, Joshua Cohen, MD
Local native to the Boca Raton area, Dr. Joshua Cohen was introduced to the practice of eye care and treatment by working for CLVC over the summers with his pioneering father, G. Richard Cohen MD. We are excited to have him joining his father at our Boca Raton TLC LASIK facility as a comprehensive ophthalmic surgeon.
Education/Training
A Pine Crest School graduate, Dr. Joshua Cohen continued on to Harvard University to study public policy and environmental science. After graduating, he taught for two years at his high school alma mater before attending the University of Florida’s College of Medicine. Dr. Cohen graduated with honors with a focus in research and was the president of his class all four years.
Dr. Cohen was a medical intern in Jacksonville, Florida, and he stayed to begin his ophthalmology training at the University of Florida’s Jacksonville campus. He finished his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Virginia, and served an additional year as chief resident to gain more exposure to advanced cataract and glaucoma surgery techniques.
Interests
Dr. Joshua Cohen is honored to return to CLVC to employ his interest in minimally invasive glaucoma and cosmetics procedures. He hopes to assist his father, G. Richard Cohen MD, in continuing the state-of-the-art refractive cataract and corneal surgery our facility is known for.
He currently lives in Delray Beach with his wife, Rachel, and he enjoys the arts, outdoors, and playing tennis with his father.
