With a solid foundation in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University, where he graduated cum laude, Dr. Winegar’s journey took a pivotal turn when he pursued a medical degree from the prestigious Saint Louis University School of Medicine. His illustrious training continued at the renowned Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he completed an internship, residency, and served as chief resident, honing his skills under the guidance of industry leaders.
Currently based in Colorado Springs, Dr. Winegar’s expertise encompasses a wide range of advanced anterior segment surgeries, including cataract and glaucoma procedures, as well as refractive surgeries such as LASIK, PRK, corneal cross-linking, and implantable collamer lens (ICL) surgery. His commitment to excellence is reflected in his numerous publications in respected ophthalmology journals and his role as the chief of the Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program at Fort Carson, CO.
