LASIK Surgeon, Richard Cohen, MD
Dr. Richard Cohen is the TLC Laser Eye Centers – Boca Raton facility’s chief refractive surgeon and certified ophthalmologist. He is a trained corneal specialist and an elite South Floridian specialist in diseases, surgery of the cornea, and laser vision correction. He is internationally recognized and board certified in Boca Raton for the work he has done throughout his ophthalmology career.
Education/Training:
He graduated the University of Virginia School of Medicine with honors, and he continued on to Harvard Medical School’s Tufts-New England Medical Center to complete his postdoctoral training in Cornea and External Disease.
Memberships/Affiliations:
American Board of Ophthalmology Diplomat & West Boca Medical Center Department of Surgery Chair. Dr. Cohen has also been published in a variety of medical journals for his investigative research findings in ocular diseases.
Research/Accomplishments:
Across the span of his career, Dr. Cohen has developed and trademarked both B-LASER™ and Phasik™ as new corrective laser vision procedures. His Boca Raton-based private practice was the first in the state to perform LASEK. Further cementing his pioneering career, he was the first LASIK surgeon in South Florida to own a permanent excimer laser and among the first in the country to offer the CK® (Conductive Keratoplasty) procedure.
Additionally, Dr. Richard Cohen offers the new dry eye thermal pulsation treatment LipiFlow® to patients near and around Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami Dade counties.
