TLC LASIK Patients Have High Satisfaction and Improved Quality of Life

The vast majority of the surveyed TLC Laser Eye Centers patients who had LASIK or other laser vision correction procedures are very satisfied with the results, and most said that the overall quality of their lives and daily routines have improved, according to the results of a recent TLC patient study. TLC's study mirrors the recent Harris Interactive Survey commissioned by the Eye Surgery Education Council (ESEC). That survey was the first nationwide quality of life survey assessing life implications for laser vision correction patients. Both the TLC survey and the Harris survey clearly show that laser vision correction has a profound positive impact on overall quality of life, daily routine, and job performance. However, the TLC survey results outperformed those of Harris in almost all areas, indicating that TLC patients surveyed reported experiencing the highest quality of patient care and achieving excellent results.

TLC Laser Eye Centers would like to share some exciting news - your health care plan may now offer savings when you have laser vision correction. It may even be a covered benefit under your plan. If you ever thought about laser vision correction, this is a great opportunity to see if it's right for you.

Good News! We have participating plans with Cigna/VSP; Healthnet; Spectera, Davis, Empire/BC/BS and many more! Call us to schedule a complimentary consultation and find out if LASIK is right for you!

TLC Mississauga Uses Most Recent, Proven Technology

At TLC Mississauga we are fortunate enough to have equipment not available at other refractive surgery clinics. In order to properly assess your visual system, we have multiple mapping systems including the Orbscan which allows us to use 3D technology to analyze the corneal curvature. We also have 2 different pieces of equipment to measure pupil size including the Colvard Infrared Pupillometer and the Procyon Video-measurement device which will measure your pupil in 3 different lighting conditions. Over the years we have been able to work with multiple aberrometers to measure your wavefront measurements for custom treatments as well as multiple laser platforms to perform these treatments. After assessing our clinical data we have elected to do our wavefront treatments utilizing the Visx S4 laser with CustomVue. We are very happy with our outcomes using this platform.

This allows us to offer different levels of technology including conventional surgery, prolate surgery and custom surgery.

We are the first Canadian center to have the Intralase unit, which can create a thinner, high quality flap utilizing a Femtosecond laser instead of a blade. This allows us to treat some patients that were previously non candidates due to thin corneas, those that are at higher risk of a flap complication or those that are scared of the blade.

Same Technology Approved by NASA is Available at TLC Laser Eye Centers

The National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) has announced the approval of Bladeless Custom LASIK vision correction for their astronauts - the same bladeless custom technology that is also available nationwide at TLC Laser Eye Centers.

NASA's approval came following a review of extensive military clinical data using the same two lasers employed in our Bladeless Custom LASIK. The research showed that the use of the combination of technologies provided superior safety and vision - results TLC Centers agree are unparalleled.
