TLC LASIK Patients Have High Satisfaction and Improved Quality of Life

The vast majority of the surveyed TLC Laser Eye Centers patients who had LASIK or other laser vision correction procedures are very satisfied with the results, and most said that the overall quality of their lives and daily routines have improved, according to the results of a recent TLC patient study. TLC's study mirrors the recent Harris Interactive Survey commissioned by the Eye Surgery Education Council (ESEC). That survey was the first nationwide quality of life survey assessing life implications for laser vision correction patients. Both the TLC survey and the Harris survey clearly show that laser vision correction has a profound positive impact on overall quality of life, daily routine, and job performance. However, the TLC survey results outperformed those of Harris in almost all areas, indicating that TLC patients surveyed reported experiencing the highest quality of patient care and achieving excellent results.

TLC Laser Eye Centers would like to share some exciting news - your health care plan may now offer savings when you have laser vision correction. It may even be a covered benefit under your plan. If you ever thought about laser vision correction, this is a great opportunity to see if it's right for you.

Good News! We have participating plans with Cigna/VSP; Healthnet; Spectera, Davis, Empire/BC/BS and many more! Call us to schedule a complimentary consultation and find out if LASIK is right for you!

CustomLASIK comes to Massachusetts

The FDA has approved a new technology that may change how your eye doctor treats your vision problems. It's called CustomLASIK. CustomLASIK is a laser vision correction procedure that uses the unique visual characteristics of your eye to customize your treatment.

CustomLASIK provides an additional level of precise data about your vision requirements using wavefront technology. A device called a wavefront analyzer measures the way light travels through your eye and compares it to the way light travels through an eye with perfect vision. This device then creates a 3-D wavefront map that is unique in the same way that your DNA is unique to you. Your wavefront map provides a detailed diagram of your vision that allows your doctor to provide you with truly personalized vision correction. This highly customized approach creates a new laser eye surgery procedure called CustomLASIK that improves both visual acuity, and the overall quality of vision, such as increased visual crispness and clarity.

TLC Massachusetts is able to offer patients a choice of CustomLASIK on two lasers- the Alcon LADARVision® CustomCornea® and the VISX CustomVue™ laser systems.

No two eyes are alike and TLC recognizes that every refractive condition deserves the right technology. The LADARVISION® Eye Tracker and VISX Star S4 Active Trak™ with WavePrint Analysis Excimer laser systems provide your TLC doctor the option to use the laser that right for each individual's visual condition. The LADARVision® laser is used to treat nearsightedness and farsightedness with or without astigmatism. This laser's radar tracking system measures eye movement 4000 times each second and follows the movement of your eye precisely.

The VISX Star S4 laser is used to treat nearsightedness and farsightedness with or without astigmatism. It incorporates the VISX patented variable-beam technology with the new 3-D Active Trak eye tracker system that works without pupil dilation. In addition, the VISX WavePrint analyzer is used to gain a detailed understanding of your vision correction requirements to assist in developing a personalized laser vision correction plan. Like your fingerprint, your WavePrint Map is unique to you.

Same Technology Approved by NASA is Available at TLC Laser Eye Centers

The National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) has announced the approval of Bladeless Custom LASIK vision correction for their astronauts - the same bladeless custom technology that is also available nationwide at TLC Laser Eye Centers.

NASA's approval came following a review of extensive military clinical data using the same two lasers employed in our Bladeless Custom LASIK. The research showed that the use of the combination of technologies provided superior safety and vision - results TLC Centers agree are unparalleled.
